Traditional 401K Plan Employee Benefits

  • Tax-deferred growth
  • Reduces current taxable earnings while saving for retirement
  • An LPL Financial advisor to give advice
  • Employee directed investments
  • Defer the amount of your salary with which you are comfortable
  • Full-time eligible employees may contribute to both a traditional 401K and Roth 401K at the same time

Traditional 401K Plan Details

  • 4% match in total between Traditional 401K and Roth 401K plans: 100% on the first 3%, 50% on the next 2% (To receive full 4% match, the employee must defer 5%)
  • Matching contributions are only made to employees who participate in 401K plan
  • Company matched funds 100% invested immediately
  • Must be 21 years of age to participate
  • Enrollment: Monthly. First Date of next month employee meets participation requirements
  • Stop deferrals at any time
  • Previous retirement plan balances can be rolled over into 401K

Roth 401K Plan Employee Benefits

  • Contribute after-tax dollars
  • Contributions and earnings are tax and penalty-free.
  • An LPL Financial advisor to give advice
  • Employee directed investments
  • Contribute the amount of your salary you are comfortable with
  • Full-time eligible employees may contribute to both a traditional 401K and Roth 401K at the same time

  • The eligibility requirement for employee contribution is 60 Days
  • The eligibility requirement for company contribution is 60 Days
  • To enroll, speak to HR who will provide the appropriate paperwork.

Upon Completion of Employment

Upon completion of employment at Beyond Spots & Dots, you have four options for your 401K:

  • Take a cash distribution. A cash distribution is a taxable distribution and carries along with it a 10% penalty.
  • Roll Traditional 401K money over to an IRA.
  • Roll Traditional 401K money over to a new 401k.
  • Leave money in the plan at John Hancock.

The 401K plans provide Beyond Spots & Dots a “cash-out” provision for a vested account balance less than $1,000. This means that if your account drops below $1,000, Beyond Spots & Dots has the right to provide you with a notice which gives you 30 days to make a distribution election or require a cash distribution from the plan.
