Bereavement / Funeral Leave

Beyond Spots & Dots provides time off with pay to its employees to attend family funerals and coordinate estate arrangements.

In cases of a death of an immediate family member (Mother, Father, Sister, Brother, Son, Daughter, Grandmother, Grandfather) Beyond Spots & Dots policy allows for up to 3 funeral days. In cases of situations where an employee must attend a funeral of a person outside of their immediate family, Beyond Spots & Dots allows for 1 funeral day.

Maternity Leave

This policy encompasses an employee’s maternity leave for physical limitations imposed by pregnancy or childbirth. A pregnant full-time employee may continue to work until they are certified as unable to work by their physician. Maternity leave is granted only to employees with at least one (1) full year of service The Beyond Spots & Dots policy provides 8 weeks of unpaid leave. The maternity leave policy is not in conjunction, or in addition to, company parental leave policy.

Eligibility for maternity leave includes:

  • Full-time employment
  • Employment for 1 year

Parental Leave

Parental leave is the time off from work given to new parents at the time of birth or adoption of a child for the purposes of bonding with a child and/or providing care for a child.

If you are a new parent, you are entitled to two weeks (10 days) of unpaid parental leave. You can choose when you take the leave but it cannot start before your baby is born and it must be used within 30 days after the birth or adoption of your child. Out-of-office email auto-response notification approved by manager must be activated. The parental leave policy is not in conjunction, or in addition to, company maternity leave policy.

Eligibility for parental leave includes:

  • Full-time employment
  • Employment for 60 days
  • Start date upon birth/adoption of the child
  • Must be used within 30 days of the birth/adoption
  • Manager approved out-of-office email auto-response

Your Birthday

Happy Birthday! Beyond Spots & Dots provides additional time off, with pay, to full-time employees for their birthday! You must be a full-time employee and post the sixty (60) day new-hire period to be eligible.

If a full-time employee’s birthday falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday:

  • A full-time employee may opt to take a birthday as a vacation day (paid day off) on the actual date of the birthday or opt to take Monday or Friday of the same week to allow for a long weekend.

If a full-time employee’s birthday falls on a Saturday or Sunday:

  • A full-time employee may opt to take a birthday as a vacation day (paid day off) on the preceding Friday or subsequent Monday only.

Your Wedding Ceremony

Beyond Spots & Dots provides additional time off, with pay, to full-time engaged employees surrounding their wedding ceremony. Time off is intended for travel and coordination as well as celebrating with friends and family. Time off includes one business day preceding the wedding ceremony date and one business day following the ceremony date. Please inform your manager of your wedding date to coordinate time off. You must be a full-time employee, engaged and post the sixty (60) day new-hire period to be eligible.

Examples:

  • If your wedding ceremony falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the preceding Friday and following Monday are paid time off.
  • If your wedding ceremony takes place on a Friday, the preceding Thursday and following Monday are paid time off.
  • If your wedding ceremony takes place on a Wednesday, the preceding Tuesday and following Thursday are paid time off.

Closing on Purchase of Primary Residence

Beyond Spots & Dots celebrates new home ownership.

Beyond Spots & Dots provides time off, with pay, to full-time employees on their bank closing date of a purchase of a primary residence/home. Time off is intended for travel and coordination, celebrating with friends and family as well as getting a head start on moving. Time off includes one business day for the bank closing date only.

Please inform your manager and HR manager of your primary home closing date to coordinate time off.

Eligibility:

  • You must be a full-time employee, post the sixty (60) day new-hire period to be eligible.
  • Existing homeowners are eligible.
  • Closings on second homes, boats and RV’s are not eligible.
  • Selling of primary residence, secondary residence, boat or RV is not eligible for time off.
  • Rental contracts for homes or apartments are not eligible.

Bank Closing Date Example:

  • If the Bank Closing date of the purchase of the primary residence falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday, the date of the closing is paid time off.
  • If the Bank Closing date of the purchase of the primary residence falls on a Saturday, the following Monday is paid time off.
