You’ve Resigned. Now what?

First and foremost, thank you for being a part of our team and helping to make Beyond Spots & Dots better. Without your efforts as part of the amazing team we have, we would not be able to produce the outstanding work we do for clients. As much as we hate to see anyone go, Beyond Spots & Dots appreciates that team members do move on to other endeavors. We hope the time spent at the company has been rewarding through the work you have done and the friendships made.

Please know that the team is genuinely happy for you. Some of our former employees currently work for the best companies in the country in leadership roles. Your time at Beyond Spots & Dots may be over, but your future is going to be amazing and we are all happy that Beyond Spots & Dots was fundamental in helping you gain your next opportunity.

Upon your resignation, team members are happy to step away from daily tasks and focus on you and help you prioritize so you can leave our team feeling good that you rounded out your tasks.

To ensure a seamless transition, here is what you can expect upon your resignation:

  • Management to spend time with you to go over and establish priorities
  • A review of outstanding tasks
  • Prioritization of tasks that need to be completed and discussed/uploaded to Projects and/or ToDoIst as necessary
  • Scheduled training sessions with current team members and/or new team members
  • Recording of training videos
  • Update comments & deadlines in Projects/tasks in ToDoIst
  • Adding items to Projects & ToDoIst to proactively manage client accounts
  • Regularly held meetings throughout your last weeks of employment, to ensure everyone is on the same page and that tasks are being completed, as well as to answer questions you may have as you depart
  • Two-way communication

Beyond Spots & Dots’ Management goals during your last two weeks:

  • Help you depart in a cordial way with zero drama, making sure tasks are completed, or noted for future completion
  • Make sure you don’t “spin your wheels” doing work that isn’t necessary during this time, but instead, to help you prioritize tasks that need to be completed before leaving
  • Make sure our team is informed enough to carry out outstanding tasks once you are gone – this often means ADDING tasks to ToDoIst and/or Projects
  • Set up Projects and ToDoIst with remaining tasks to complete after you are gone
  • Track what’s been completed, so we know what still needs to be completed
  • Thank you in advance for your cooperation during this time, as Management dedicates a lot of time to those who resign, and we appreciate you doing the same in return.

To help better prepare a new team member with onboarding for your position:

  • Think about the incoming person and how you can make it easier on them to pick up where you left off.
  • Update all projects with comments
  • Make additional comments and add the next steps within ToDoIst.
  • Make sure you are up to date on emails.
